These selected objects have some or all of the more "optical" features found in VMs tubes: Straight sides, multiple diameters, recessed tops with blue/green coloring, body coloring reminiscent of tooled leather, possible knurling, and feet. On f102v to the right, one "foot" has a very dolphin fin-like look... and Drebbel described, pre-1610, a microscope with "three brass legs" shaped like dolphins.
